Seaview Christian College is a co-educational Christian school located in Port Augusta, South Australia, at the top of the Spencer Gulf, where the backdrop of the Flinders Ranges provides for an idyllic setting. To learn more about our Christian faith, please view our Statement of Faith below.

The College commenced operations in January 2016 as a Reception to Year 5 school. Year 6 was added in 2017 and an additional year level will be added each succeeding year through to Year 12.

EDUCATOR - Certificate III or Diploma in Education and Care

Full time/Part Time/Casual (negotiable), starting January 2025 

Seaview Christian College Educators are employed under the terms and conditions specified in the Christian Community Ministries Enterprise Agreement 2024 as amended from time to time.
Educators will demonstrate a willingness to actively support the Christian aims of the College, demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos of Christian education and be familiar with college policy, rules and expectations.

Position Summary:

Educators at Seaview Christian College Early Learning Centre are appointed to educate and care for a group of children. Under the guidance of the ELC Director and Educational Leader, Educators will require training to support the Lead Educator to develop, plan and implement an early childhood program which is developmentally appropriate and aligns with nationally approved learning frameworks, the ethos and vision of the College, meets the group and individual needs of children, and considers parent and community input into the program.

Duties & Responsibility

Consistent with the current Christian Community Ministries Enterprise Agreement, Seaview Christian College Policy and the Biblical basis of the College, you will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

 

  • Promote and engage in the College wide ethos which focusses on the values of Jesus by embedding Christ into educational programs and practice.

  • Support Lead Educator with the planning, preparing and delivering of effective learning and teaching programs for every child using government approved learning frameworks (Early Years Learning Framework & My Time Our Place), National Quality Standards, and the Centre’s Philosophy.

  • Be focussed, active and reflective when contributing with the design and the delivery of whole group, small group and individualised learning programs.

  • Support Lead Educator to implement the planning and assessment cycle, making learning visible and accessible to parents/caregivers.

  • Use evidence based and age-appropriate methods of assessment to collect data on children’s progress for the purpose of informing programming and communication with families.

  • Develop collaborative partnerships with families, professionals, community groups and/or research organisations.

  • Ensure that interactions with children are warm, responsive and inclusive, encouraging a sense of professional trust and security.

  • Interact with children in meaningful ways, promoting their learning and development in a manner which is age appropriate and develop skills of lifelong learning.

  • Follow Centre policies and procedures to ensure the safety and hygiene of the environment in line with laws and regulations.

  • Follow the College Code of Conduct, Child Protection, and Confidentiality Policies, along with the Centre Code of Ethics at all times.

  • Be committed to the Centre vision of continual improvement and striving for excellence, contributing to and engaging in professional learning, projects, and the Quality Improvement Plan.

  • Engage with all staff in a professional manner, contributing to a positive workplace culture that reflects Seaview Christian College organisational values.

 

Selection Criteria:

Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

  • Ability to apply appropriate knowledge in order to support Lead Educator to plan and prepare education and care programs which meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of children; and are consistent with relevant approved learning frameworks, National Quality Standards, and the Centre’s Philosophy.

  • Ability to support Lead Educator to implement effective, holistic and inclusive education and care practices, including the use of the planning and assessment cycle.

  • Capacity to communicate effectively with children, families and staff including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills, and the ability to support Lead Educator to plan and apply appropriate behaviour guidance strategies that contribute to a supportive, inclusive, quality early education and care environment.

  • An understanding of the need to work collaboratively with early learning centre staff, parents/caregivers, and members of the wider community in order to achieve desirable outcomes for children.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • The successful applicant will hold or be actively working towards a Certificate III in Education and Care, or an ACEQA recognised equivalent qualification and/or Diploma in Education and Care.

  • First Aid Qualifications – including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.

STUDENT SUPPORT OFFICER (SSO)

Full-Time, starting Term 1, 2025

Seaview Christian College is an independent, non-denominational Christian College located in the city of Port Augusta, 322 kilometers north of Adelaide. Established in 2016, the College is one of 14 schools operated by Christian Community Ministries Ltd. Seaview Christian College is seeking a suitable person as a Student Support Officer (SSO). College staff are employed under the terms and conditions specified in the Christian Community Ministries Enterprise Agreement, as amended from time to time. Staff will demonstrate a willingness to actively support the Christian aims of the College, demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos of Christian education and be familiar with College policy, rules and expectations.

This is a full-time position commencing from Term 1, 2025.

Position Summary:

The Student Support Officer role includes:

  • Engaging students who need regular support

  • Developing a professional relationship with SCC teaching staff

  • Supporting students to understand and complete tasks

  • Providing support to teaching staff by preparing and packing up classroom equipment

  • Creating resources and other administrative tasks​

Specific responsibilities include:​

  • Build rapport with teacher and students

  • Work effectively with students, teachers and other colleagues

  • Assist implementation of educational programs

  • support the development of literacy, oral language and numeracy skills

  • Contribute to individual and small group learning areas

  • Prepare equipment and materials specific to the student and classroom needs in accordance with class teacher directions

  • Contribute to organisation and management of classroom

  • Support student behaviour; deferring to class teacher/school policy and practices

  • Support students with additional needs

  • Contribute to the health, well-being and safety of SCC students

  • Attend promptly to all requirements and any other duties as delegated

  • Assist with the documentation of student learning experiences

  • Respect and understand the need for confidentiality

  • On request, document interactions and/or observations with students, parents, and teachers.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to successfully engage a range of stakeholders including students, staff and parents

  • The ability to work as a member of a team

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students

  • High level of problem-solving skills that support working in a dynamic and developing environment

  • Ability to handle potentially sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality

  • Current driver’s license

  • Must hold the following:

- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

- Provide First Aid (or willingness to be trained)

- Mandatory Notification (RRHAN-EC) certificate, for which the training was done less than three years ago (or willingness to obtain)

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

Full-Time, Starting Term 1, 2025

Seaview Christian College is seeking a suitable person as an Administration officer. College staff are employed under the terms and conditions specified in the Christian Community Ministries Enterprise Agreement as amended from time to time. Staff will demonstrate a willingness to actively support the Christian aims of the College, demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos of Christian education and be familiar with College policy, rules and expectations.

This is a full-time position commencing from Term 1, 2025.

​

Position Summary:

The Administration Officer will share responsibility with existing team members for the Front Desk area. The role will encompass a variety of administrative and customer service activities, as well as first aid support to students. The Administration team at Seaview Christian College is a dynamic and changing environment, as such the duties listed below are subject to change as the College continues to grow and develop.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Be the first point of contact for all parents and visitors to the school

  • Answer incoming internal and external telephone calls and redirect as appropriate

  • Respond to requests for information from visitors, staff and parents

  • Manage deliveries and orders to the school

  • Assist with all general administration tasks as required

  • Student uniform shop sales

  • Student services including provide first aid, recording of student data

  • Assistance to Administration Manager and College Leadership

  • Contribute to safe and healthy workplace by following WHS instructions and policies

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in working collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a team.

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • A good understanding of the running of an Administration Office in a school environment

  • Sound knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office software, including Outlook

  • Ability to use EFTPOS machine, photocopiers, laminators and other general office equipment.

  •  Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students  

  • High level of problem-solving skills that support working in a dynamic and developing environment

  • Ability to handle potentially sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.

  • Must hold the following:

o   A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

o   Provide First Aid (or willingness to be trained)

o   Mandatory Notification (RRHAN-EC) certificate, for which the training was done less than three years ago (or willingness to obtain)
